Legion Play Thread

You have been lurking near the home of a man you suspect to be one of Feng's Lieutenants, hoping to over power him and use him to infiltrate Feng's inner sanctum. The home is in Aquifer Heights, a nice enough neighborhood on the border of the city and the suburbs, comprising mostly of 5 and 6 story buildings. You have drifted into the lobby and found the man's name ( Jimmy Chen) on the list of appartments. He lives on the third floor.

  1. I would like to find either a building maintenance man or the building manager (the latter preferable). Once I find them I would like to possess them.

    In the case of:
    (a) Maintenance man, I will use his keys to get access to the appartment. Should the appartment be occupied I will consider my options.
    (b) Knock on the door as the manager and then reassess the situation if there is someone inside.

If I am unsuccessful in trying to possess either of these targets, I will reassess my situation.

  2. the building superintendent walks past you, heading to the basement and you "pounce" as he opens the door. Invading his mind, you push his personality aside and attempt to gain control, but he is stronger than many minds you have attacked before and struggles. You fall to the floor as you fight to lock out his ability to control his own body.
After a minute of involunatry writihing you have established enough control over his body to shuffle and slide down the stairs to the basement where you can complete the "transformation" with no one seeing and calling an ambulance. It takes a few more minutes, but you are able to take enough control to stand up and after a moment, walk. Some of the man's memories are coming to you, but they are all (as usual) heavily involved with routine behaviours and what he was recently doing; his job.
You still haven't defeated him everywhere yet and he is defiantly refusing to let you have ciontrol of his speech center. At the moment all you can do is grunt.

  3. His routine behaviours are what I am after. I will take a further few minutes to establish control and then attempt to read his mind about Jimmy Chen and his daily activities and the number of occupants that live in Chen's appartment.

If that fails then I will spend some further time establishing control as I really want access to his speech center.

What type of man is the superintendant. Does he look like a religious man, of what cultural background does he look. Could I perhaps use some personal detail that would allow me to convince him that he should allow the possession.

  4. After a few minutes you have established some control over his speech centers. You can speak but only monosyllabically. You gather from the man's mind that Jimmy Chen gets up late and works late. Most nights he gets home between 9 and 11 pm. He lives alone, although women often accompany him home and there is one in particular that he is in the company of quite a lot.

The superintendent's name is Juan Hernandez and his parents were born in Mexico. His parents are strong catholics, but he hasn't been much of a catholic for decades. Having said that you can detect that he still believes deep down.

  5. (What time is it now?)

"Good man" I say using his mouth "I mean you no harm. I am from God", with his hand I make the sign of the cross.

"I need your body for good", I say hoping this will let him relax.

(mechanic, can we assume that if I can read someone's mind and possess them, I'm able to speak to them in their native tongue if it is not English?)

  6. You look down at "your" watch and see that it is 8:45.

"Good man" You say using his mouth "I mean you no harm. I am from God", you make the sign of the cross.

"I need your body for good", you say hoping this will let him relax.

At these words he stops fighting you and through his mind you detect thoughts of angels.

  7. "I am an Angel of God and I can see you are a good man. There is a man in your building who serves evil. I need you to make an excuse for you to access his room and make him leave in case he returns. Perhaps a maintenance issue".

I'll start to assess Juan's body to see if he would be fit enough to fight if needed.

    ReplyDelete
  8. He could fight if he needed to. He works with his hands in a seven story building that has no elevator, so he is pretty fit, but he has no formal training so there is no muscle memory there.

A maintenance issue that would get rid of him would be something like isolating an electrical fault in the building in his appartment.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I will instruct Juan to create the electrical fault. This will allow us a pretense to go to his door to gain entry to his apartment without suspicion. I will make sure that he collects his tool belt in case he needs a weapon should things go south.

Do I sense Juan is nervous or afraid?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Juan is nervous, but also excited. He creates the electrical fault in no time at all.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I will go upstairs to Chen's appartment and knock on the door. If Chen is not home, I will get Juan to unlock the door and place a "maintenance in progress" sign on the door and close and lock the door behind us.

  12. You are in a two bedroom appartment that contains expensive furnishings and objects d'art, but there is no theme. It is almost like the decorator had a good budget but no idea what they were doing.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I will instruct Juan to remove a few of the light switch plates and open up the fuse box and leave the tool box near the door. Then we'll head to the bedroom and start carefully searching it first so that there's an alibi for the electrical work and we have time if I hear the front door being opened and hitting the tool box.

I am searching for any leads as to the wearabouts of Bao or Feng. Postcards, letters, post-it notes, etc. Luckily I speak several languages as I've served overseas especially in Hong Kong and mainland China. I inwardly reflect the irony being that my ability to speak chinese is part of the reason I'm in this predicament.

  14. He seems pretty well organised and you find an appointment book. It doesn't mention Feng or Bao much, but it does (in Mandarin) mention the name 'Black Tiger' a lot. Chen has a meeting with the Black Tiger tomorrow at a noodle place for lunch.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Excellent, a real lead.

"Juan, you have done the Lord a great service today in the fight against corruption. I leave you now to pursue this information, may the lord bless you and keep you safe. You have nothing to fear from Chen".

Before I leave his body, I will attempt to close the neural pathways making him forget this ever happened. I will leave him with the sense that he did a great deed today.

I will then float outside looking for a weak willed person to spend the night in.

    ReplyDelete
  16. You leave Juan and think you have left him feeling like he has accomplished something. You drift down out through the window and see only a few people around.
A gang member down the street. A man walking a dog across the road and a young woman carrying groceries into the building you were just in.

    ReplyDelete
  17. The Gang member might be interesting. I'll drift in his direction. He could be from a rival gang or even the same gang.

I will attempt to take them over slowly. However, I don't feel I have to be gentle with this person so should there be any resistance I will invade them aggressively. Every facet I will control. It would be a shame to erase them completely, but if I must to take over this body then I shall.

    ReplyDelete
  18. You flow over the gang member and he notices when it is too late. You are in and quickly taking control. This guy is easy and you don't even fall to the ground whilst taking him over. AFter about a minute of leaning on a car you have complete physical control and are starting to get speech down. You notice a few people are giving you quizzical looks.

    ReplyDelete
  19. "Wha' you looooooooooking at" in as menacing a tone while I get the speech centre under control.

I search the gang members memory. I'll make a note of any crimes that seem worth reporting to the police, if this gang member (search for his name and any pseudonyms) has preformed any particular heinous crimes, I may take him down to the local police station and make him turn himself in. Anything that includes knowledge of the Triads in this city I will follow up on my own terms, especially Bao, Chen, Feng or the "Black Tiger".

I will also search this gang members mind for his known hangouts and hideouts. If his body is useful for a fight, he may prove irredeemable and can be used as cannon fodder in my quest for justice.

    ReplyDelete
  20. You have complete control of him now and he seems like he would be very good in a fight. He is more than a thug, but is not employed for his brains. You know he has a gun under his jacket and the name Chen is fresh in his mind...he has been told to hang around this place and call a man called Vaho when Chen gets home.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I scan the area for Chen and take out the phone and go through the address book. Do any names seem familiar. I'll match them to thoughts and memories of this thug (what is his name?). Has this thug met Vaho before, if so, what nationality is he and am I stepping into the middle of a gang war. If so, I could use this to my advantage.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Most of the names in his phone are gang names that mean nothing to you at the moment, but you pick up that he has met Vaho and that Vaho is Mexican and also that he works for Bao. The guy you are riding is absolutely shit scared of Vaho and is determined not to piss him off or make a mistake.
There are memories he is trying to divert you from and its not because he doesn't want you to see them...he doesn't want to relive them and is trying to bury them.

    ReplyDelete
  23. What is the name of my host and what is his nationality?
[OOG: Is it him that's working for Bao and he's being leaned on by Vaho?]

I will let him spend an hour or so keeping an eye out for Feng and while he does that search his mind for info on Bao's whereabouts.

    ReplyDelete
  24. (OOG: He works for Bao, as does Vaho)

He knows Bao has a nice house up in the hills (Peach Hills is the suburb) outside of the city and he keeps an apartment in town where he does his business. He is not sure of the addresses but he thinks his (immediate) superior Ju Ju would know. Also Chen would surely know.

As luck would have it, Chen's car pulls up after about 40 minutes. He parks his BMW just down the street (confident to leave it there) and slowly strolls over to his apartment.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I proceed to let the host call Vaho to let him know Chen has arrived. I will listen in and hear what transpires. Hopefully Chen's life is in danger, I could use that to my advantage.

I also curse my luck that I didn't think to check what Chen's home phone number is while I was in his appartment.

    ReplyDelete
  26. He calls in and speaks to a gruff sounding man. He informs the guy that Chen is home and is asked if he is alone. He says that he is alone.
The man on the other end of the phone says, Kill him and then he hangs up.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Well well well well well.

As I suspected this was a hit. I will read his mind to see how he plans to get into the building. If it looks like he's going to be sloppy or possibly hurt bystanders I'll assume control straight away.
